Day after day, Hess Injury Law works hard to help our clients get the compensation they deserve from the parties responsible for their personal injuries. We know all too well that an injury throws a big wrench into a person’s life. Aside from the resulting pain and financial burden from medical treatment, many people who have been victims of a car accident or other injury end up suffering long-term effects like physical disability or emotional trauma. That’s why we created the True Impact of Injury Scholarship—to give back to people like our clients.
The True Impact of Injury Scholarship is an opportunity for students impacted by a personal injury to receive aid in reaching their educational goals. Students who apply for this $1,000 scholarship award are asked to tell their injury story—whether the injury was personal or happened to a loved one. Applicants detail the effects of the injury on their lives or their family members and are given a space to describe the raw reality of personal injury cases.
Hess Injury Law wants to shed light on the brutal reality of how a moment of negligence can cause devastating consequences in a person’s life. Those impacted by personal injury cases often experience the pains of loss and disadvantage for the rest of their lives. For this reason, we want to do our part in compensating those individuals for their pain and spreading awareness to prevent injuries in the future.
The winner of this year’s scholarship is a bright young woman whose story proves that one can rise above even the most devastating and catastrophic events that life throws at you. We’d like to recognize her for her bravery and endurance by awarding her the True Impact of Injury Scholarship Award for 2022.
In March of 2006, when Tiara was only eight years old, her father picked her up from cheerleading practice. On the way home, their car was struck by a large truck. Tiara suffered a severely broken jaw that required months of medical treatment and a year-long liquid diet. Her father suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiple bone fractures, putting him in a three-month coma. When her father awoke, the long road of recovery began, which her family faithfully underwent. But both Tiara and her father still suffer from long-lasting pain and traumatic effects from the car accident they endured all those years ago.
Today, Tiara seeks to further her education at Capella University with a Master of Social Work. We want to commend this strong young woman for her passion, drive, and ability to face life’s obstacles with bravery and determination. Congratulations to 2022’s winner of the True Impact of Injury Scholarship Award!
